About This Site...

Welcome to the Superhero Cartoon Network online, a jumping-off point for locating and downloading superhero-related cartoons. We will be updating our files daily, starting in alphabetical order (listed by the actual name of the main character, not necessarily by the name of the show).
What makes the Superhero Cartoon Network different from other such download link sites is that we will endeavor to upload and post individual cartoons from the superhero genre—both old and new—in the MPEG format. This means that these files are ready to be watched or burned to a DVD recording device once downloaded. Where files for a particular cartoon are too large to be uploaded as single MPEG files, they will be split and uploaded as smaller MPEGs. In the event that files are too large or impractical to be uploaded as MPEGs, we will upload them as AVI files, which when are downloaded and extracted, will make a single AVI after you convert the resulting AVI to an MPEG (naturally, you will need the proper software to accomplish this with. Below are the links to free software that will allow you to do this; most of these programs are user-friendly, and only requires basic computer literacy).

The Show:
The Silver Surfer is an animated television series based on the Marvel Comics superhero which aired on the Fox Kids Network in 1998. The series follows the adventures of the space-faring cosmic superhero The Silver Surfer.

Background:
Premiering in 1998, the animated series on the Fox Network, blended cell and computer animation. The series was rendered in the style of Surfer creator Jack Kirby, and faithfully incorporated much of the comic book history.
Originally, Norrin Radd, a young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La, made a bargain with the cosmic entity Galactus, pledging to serve as his herald in order to save his homeworld from destruction. Imbued in return with a tiny portion of Galactus' Power Cosmic Radd acquired great powers and a new version of his original appearance. Galactus also created for Radd a surfboard-like craft — modeled after a childhood fantasy of his — on which he would travel at speeds beyond that of light. Known from then on as the Silver Surfer, Radd began to roam the cosmos searching for new planets for Galactus to consume.
Further adventures included appearances by many characters from Marvel's "cosmic" stable, including Thanos, the Watcher, Ego the Living Planet, Mentor, Drax the Destroyer, Pip the Troll, Nebula, and the Kree and Skrull empires, their roles sometimes differing from their comic book incarnations but often adhering closely. It received good ratings, but was canceled after only one season of thirteen episodes due to politics between Toy Biz and Saban Entertainment. The series ended on a cliffhanger. Eight further episodes for the next season were written but never animated.
