The Show:
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes is an animated television series based on the Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four comic book series that made its debut on the Cartoon Network during the 2006-2007 season.

Background:
he series is the team's fourth foray into animation, and combines two-dimensional art and three-dimensional computer animation produced by the France-based animation company Moonscoop. In the United States, the show suffered an erratic airing schedule on Cartoon Network, having premiered as part of Toonami on September 2, 2006 but only running for 7 of the season's 26 episodes before being pulled without explanation. It returned to the network starting June 9, 2007, shortly before the release of the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but again, only eleven further episodes were aired, leaving eight installments unaired in the USA. The show aired on Boomerang for a brief time before moving to the Nicktoons Network in Fall 2009 to air the last two episodes.
World's Greatest Heroes is not directly connected to any of the previous iterations of the Fantastic Four, telling its own version of the team's origin and meetings with their greatest villains. The series begins with the FF as already-established adventurers, foregoing an actual "origin episode" for the group, presumably on the assumption that audiences would be familiar with the creation of the team after the release of the live-action movie a few months prior.
The series followed the crime-fighting adventures of a family of four super-powered individuals who acquired their super powers in a freak accident during a trip to outer space in an experimental rocket ship designed by scientist Reed Richards.
When Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm travel into space, they are affected by cosmic radiation and gain superpowers. Reed Richards becomes able to flatten his body as thin as paper and stretch to great lengths so he dubs himself Mr. Fantastic. Sue Storm can become invisible and create force fields, so she now goes by Invisible Woman. Johnny Storm gains the power of pyrokinesis. He can cover his entire body in flames as. He also gains the power of flight because heat rises. Johnny finds that he can hold his arm within inches of gasoline without setting it off. He becomes the Human Torch. Ben Grimm's skin turns rock-like and impervious to most harm, and his strength increases immensely. Upset at his new appearance, he christens himself The Thing. Together, these people decided to use their powers to benefit mankind, and become the...Fantastic Four. The identities of the Fantastic Four are publicly known.
