Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, The Flash chronicled the adventures of the lightening fast DC Comics-based super-hero. The alter ego of his civilian guise of police scientist, Barry Allen, The Flash--sometimes accompanied by his equally fast nephew Kid Flash--uses his wits, fighting skills, and super-speed-based powers to outwit would-be world beaters and other criminal elements. The Flash also appeared as a member of the Justice League cartoons which also aired during the show at other times. There were only three 7-minute episodes of The Flash produced.
Background:
Barry Allen, a police scientist who gained super-speed when bathed by chemicals after a shelf of them was struck by lightning. He adopted the name The Flash after reading a comic book featuring the Golden Age Flash.
