About This Site...
Welcome to the Superhero Cartoon Network online, a jumping-off point for locating and downloading superhero-related cartoons. We will be updating our files daily, starting in alphabetical order (listed by the actual name of the main character, not necessarily by the name of the show). What makes the Superhero Cartoon Network different from other such download link sites is that we will endeavor to upload and post individual cartoons from the superhero genre—both old and new—in the MPEG format. This means that these files are ready to be watched or burned to a DVD recording device once downloaded. Where files for a particular cartoon are too large to be uploaded as single MPEG files, they will be split and uploaded as smaller MPEGs. In the event that files are too large or impractical to be uploaded as MPEGs, we will upload them as AVI files, which when are downloaded and extracted, will make a single AVI after you convert the resulting AVI to an MPEG (naturally, you will need the proper software to accomplish this with. Below are the links to free software that will allow you to do this; most of these programs are user-friendly, and only requires basic computer literacy).

The Show: The Justice League of America were 3 cartoon shorts that were part of Filmation's 1967 Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure Hour. The membership was comprised of the five male characters who also had their own animated features in the series--Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Hawkman, and The Atom. As with the other features in the series (other than Superman, Aquaman, and Batman), there were only three episodes made. The individual members came together only during a crises that proved greater than they could handle as individuals.

The Show: Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, Hawkman chronicled the adventures of the DC Comics-based super-hero. Hawkman was Carter Hall, an archeologist who was the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince, Khufu. In the comics, he and Hawkgirl used the same tools displayed in his museum to fight crime.
Background: Hawkman's first animated appearance was in the 1967 Filmation animated series The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, in which Hawkman appeared in several shorts, either in solo adventures or as part of the Justice League. The cartoon version resembled the Silver Age hero closely, with the exception of his using a ray blaster "power claw" instead of archaic weapons and instead of Hawkgirl, an eagle sidekick named Skreal. Additionally his space craft was bird shaped. There were only three 7-minute episodes of The Atom produced.
The Show: Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, The Flash chronicled the adventures of the lightening fast DC Comics-based super-hero. The alter ego of his civilian guise of police scientist, Barry Allen, The Flash--sometimes accompanied by his equally fast nephew Kid Flash--uses his wits, fighting skills, and super-speed-based powers to outwit would-be world beaters and other criminal elements. The Flash also appeared as a member of the Justice League cartoons which also aired during the show at other times. There were only three 7-minute episodes of The Flash produced.
Background: Barry Allen, a police scientist who gained super-speed when bathed by chemicals after a shelf of them was struck by lightning. He adopted the name The Flash after reading a comic book featuring the Golden Age Flash.

The Show: Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, the Green Lantern cartoon shorts followed the adventures of Air Force test pilot Hal Jordon, who in his super-hero alter-ego of the Green Lantern fights criminals and would-be world beaters with his "power ring." There were only three 7-minute episodes produced
Background: The Green Lantern was a Filmation animated series that aired as part of CBS' Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure hour, which aried from 1967 to 1968. Premiering on September 9, 1967, this 60-minute program included a series of six-minute adventures featuring various DC Comics superheroes that included the Lantern.
The brief series is based on the DC Comics character of the same name, he was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur, whose spaceship crashed on Earth. Abin Sur used his ring to seek out an individual who was "utterly honest and born without fear" to take his place as Green Lantern.
The Green Lantern also makes an appearance with the Filmation version Justice League, which also had three short similar to the Green Lantern and other cartoons airing during the series' run. In addition, in the series, Green Lantern was joined by an alien sidekick named Kairo (sometimes spelled Cairo or Kyro).

The Show: Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, The Atom chronicled the adventures of the diminutive DC Comics-based super-hero. The alter ego of his civilian guise of Professor Ray Palmer, The Atom uses hit wits, fighting skills, and ability to control his size to outwit would-be world beaters and other criminals. The Atom also appeared as a member of the Justice League cartoons which also aired during the show at other times. There were only three 7-minute episodes of The Atom produced.
Background: Using a mass of white dwarf star matter, Ray Palmer fashions a lens that enables him to shrink any object to any degree he wishes. However, any object so treated soon explodes as a side effect, which obviously precludes any practical use of the lens.
During a spelunking expedition, Palmer and his friends find themselves trapped in a cave when the entrance collapses. In desperation, Palmer secretly uses the lens he has carried with him to shrink himself down in order to be able to climb to a small hole high in the wall that leads to the outside, knowing full well he will likely explode. Using a diamond engagement ring, Palmer enlarges the hole sufficiently and descends to the floor to try to alert the others of the escape route before dying. However, upon entering the lens' beam, he finds himself returned to normal size. As the lens is covered with cave moisture, Palmer thinks this fact has altered the beam to allow this strange effect. When subsequent experiments show no change with the explosions, Palmer concludes that there must be some mysterious force in his own body that allows him to be shrunk safely and later returned to normal. He decides to use this effect to become a superhero.

The Show: Produced by Filmation as a part of the Superman / Aquaman Hour of Adventure Aqualad, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash and Speedy formed "The Teen Titans," a group of rising young superheroes. The series was faithful to the comic series, with the exception of the absence of Robin. The Titans were headquartered in the Titans Lair and responded to emergency calls, just as in the comics. The teen teammates also refered to each other by their ginchy nicknames, like Wonder Doll, Wonder Chick, Twinkletoes, Speedy-o, and Gill Head. There were only three 7-minute episodes produced

The Show: Shazam! was a half hour long cartoon, originally aired as The Kid Super Power Hour With Shazam!. There was another half hour of programming called Hero High. The series premiered on September 12, 1981 on NBC and was produced by Filmation Productions.
Background: The Kid Super Power Hour with Shazam! was a NBC Saturday morning cartoon produced by Filmation Studios in 1981. It contained two segments, Hero High (about a group of students in a high school for superheroes), and Shazam! (the adventures of Captain Marvel and his Marvel Family). From time to time the characters of one show would appear in the other. Isis from The Secrets of Isis also made a guest appearance in animated form on Hero High. As a Filmation production, it has the signature Filmation musical score as well as the Filmation animation style, which was reminiscent of other cartoons from the defunct company, such as The New Adventures of Batman, Tarzan And The Super 7, Blackstar, and a host of others.

A brother like no other who loves (among other things) the myth & legend of the hero. In particular, love the related idea of the American superhero, so much in fact that I plan on sharing my love of superhero cartoons wih the world.
