About This Site...

Welcome to the Superhero Cartoon Network online, a jumping-off point for locating and downloading superhero-related cartoons. We will be updating our files daily, starting in alphabetical order (listed by the actual name of the main character, not necessarily by the name of the show).
What makes the Superhero Cartoon Network different from other such download link sites is that we will endeavor to upload and post individual cartoons from the superhero genre—both old and new—in the MPEG format. This means that these files are ready to be watched or burned to a DVD recording device once downloaded. Where files for a particular cartoon are too large to be uploaded as single MPEG files, they will be split and uploaded as smaller MPEGs. In the event that files are too large or impractical to be uploaded as MPEGs, we will upload them as AVI files, which when are downloaded and extracted, will make a single AVI after you convert the resulting AVI to an MPEG (naturally, you will need the proper software to accomplish this with. Below are the links to free software that will allow you to do this; most of these programs are user-friendly, and only requires basic computer literacy).

The Show:
The Mighty Thor was one of five superheroes featured as part of "The Marvel Super Heroes" cartoon show. The Thor segments focused on the adventures of the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, and his allies and enemies on both Earth (Midgard) and the eternal realm of Asgard, home of the Norse Gods.

Background:
The Mighty Thor, along with the other features from "The Marvel Super Heroes" lineup was a Canadian-made animated feature and was first syndicated, on U.S. television, in 1966. What made this cartoon unique among other animated features of the time was that the animation itself was taken almost directly from the Marvel Comics-published comic book (panels) that each story/episode was based on. The result was limited articulation of movements from the animated characters in the features, that was supported by rich comic book-like sound effects that emphasized the action that was supposed to be taking place. The action was also often narrated from an omniscient-perspective by Bernard Cowan, who narrated similarly in all of the Marvel Super Heroes features.
During the episodes, Thor often found himself forced to either outwit the schemes of his evil foster-brother Loki, The God of Evil, or fight the latter's lackeys.

The Show:
Astro and the Space Mutts was one of the mini-features comprised that NBC's 1981 Saturday morning cartoon "Space Stars" lineup.

Background:
The characters featured Astro from the hit show The Jetsons. He teams up with two other dogs named Cosmo and Dipper, led by their human leader Space Ace. Together, the trio act as galactic police officers and travel through outer space.
