Superhero Cartoon Network: Hulk

About This Site...

Welcome to the Superhero Cartoon Network online, a jumping-off point for locating and downloading superhero-related cartoons. We will be updating our files daily, starting in alphabetical order (listed by the actual name of the main character, not necessarily by the name of the show).
What makes the Superhero Cartoon Network different from other such download link sites is that we will endeavor to upload and post individual cartoons from the superhero genre—both old and new—in the MPEG format. This means that these files are ready to be watched or burned to a DVD recording device once downloaded. Where files for a particular cartoon are too large to be uploaded as single MPEG files, they will be split and uploaded as smaller MPEGs. In the event that files are too large or impractical to be uploaded as MPEGs, we will upload them as AVI files, which when are downloaded and extracted, will make a single AVI after you convert the resulting AVI to an MPEG (naturally, you will need the proper software to accomplish this with. Below are the links to free software that will allow you to do this; most of these programs are user-friendly, and only requires basic computer literacy).

File Format (File format-conversion software. This is the lastest version as of this posting): http://www.ziddu.com/downloadlink/7605611/FFSetup220VideoFormatConverter.zip

Easy Video Joiner (freeware/software which combines separate MPEG and/or AVI files into a single file...which is great for those of you who want to combine the divided episodes into one single episode): http://www.ziddu.com/download/7810926/ezjoinerEasyVideoJoiner5.2.exe.html

Incredible Hulk (1960s)

The Show:
The Incredible Hulk was one of five superheroes featured as part of "The Marvel Super Heroes" cartoon show. The Incredible Hulk segments focused on the adventures of military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who is accidentally irradiated with gamma rays, and gains the ability to transform into a green 7 foot, thousand-pound, rage-enhanced wrecking machine known to the world as The Incredible Hulk.

Background:
The Incredible Hulk, along with the other features from "The Marvel Super Heroes" lineup was a Canadian-made animated feature and was first syndicated, on U.S. television, in 1966. What made this cartoon unique among other animated features of the time was that the animation itself was taken almost directly from the Marvel Comics-published comic book (panels) that each story/episode was based on. The result was limited articulation of movements from the animated characters in the features, that was supported by rich comic book-like sound effects that emphasized the action that was supposed to be taking place. The action was also often narrated from an omniscient-perspective by Bernard Cowan, who narrated similarly in all of the Marvel Super Heroes features.
The episodes followed the adventures of Bruce Banner/Hulk, who are on the run from the U.S. military, as they see him as a threat to national security. He is accompanied in his adventures by his teenage sidekick, Rick Jones, the youngster he risked his life to save...an act that resulted in the creation of the Hulk. His main enemies are U.S Military General "Thunderbolt" Ross, Major Glenn Talbot, and the super-intelligent gamma-spawn known as The Leader.

Incredible Hulk (1990s)

The Show:
The Incredible Hulk is an American animated television series starring the Marvel Comics character the Hulk. It ran two seasons, for 21 episodes, on the television network UPN from 1996 to 1997. Lou Ferrigno, who portrayed the Hulk on the 1970s live-action TV series, returned to provide the Hulk's voice.

Background:
The first season was exceptionally dark in storytelling, with endings either bittersweet or downbeat. The demonic, supernatural motorcyclist Ghost Rider appeared in the episode "Innocent Blood," still a relatively popular character on comic-book stands at the time.
The first season begins with Dr. Robert Bruce Banner already established as the Hulk and on the run, captured by the military after another attempt at ridding himself of the beast within goes awry. He eventually escapes, and falls into the hands of The Leader (voiced by Matt Frewer), but the intervention of mutated cave dwelling gamma creatures, Banner's loyal friend Rick Jones, and the love of his life Betty Ross, is enough to liberate The Hulk and he becomes a fugitive again, with a more aggressive General Ross, Betty's father, continuing his pursuit. The first season ends with a three-part cliffhanger where the Hulk and Banner are separated, and the grey Hulk is introduced.
A lighter tone was introduced during the second season, reportedly at the request of the network UPN.[2] Rick Jones and Doc Samson gradually vanished, as did the Gamma cave dwellers. Betty Ross even became less of an important character. The Leader, the series' most prominent adversary, made his final appearance alongside the Gargoyle during "Fashion Warriors", in which Betty and Jennifer Walters lead a group of female scientists clad in bathing suits to battle The Leader's Gamma Mutant Warriors. The second season is regarded by many fans as inferior to the first season; following these changes the series popularity dropped and was eventually cancelled.

Incredible Hulk (1980s)

The Show:

The Incredible Hulk (1982) is a half hour long cartoon, originally aired with the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends during its third season as the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and the Incredible Hulk Hour. The series premiered on September 19, 1982 and was a Marvel Production.

Background:
The series is often fondly remembered for the overwrought nature of its musical score and accompanying narration by Hulk creator Stan Lee. Some of the same background music tracks were used for Dungeons & Dragons.
Unlike the live-action The Incredible Hulk TV series, which wound up the year this was produced, this series was based more closely upon the Hulk comic in regards to the origin story (albeit with supposedly alien involvement rather than Soviet spies), as well as featuring more characters from the comics including Rick Jones (who would often refer to Bruce as "Doc"), Major Ned Talbot, who was essentially the same character as Glenn Talbot (although perhaps a little less intelligent and more clumsy then his comic book counterpart and as a result of this is referred to by his men as Noodlehead Ned), Betty Ross, and General Ross, along with the first cartoon appearance of the She-Hulk. Yet only one classic Hulk villain appeared in a single episode of the series, The Leader, with a number of villains normally associated with other Marvel characters and newly created foes filling out the other episodes.
Also introduced were the Hispanic family of Rio and his daughter Rita, the father and his efforts to advertise his restaurant (Rio's Rancheros) providing more chances for comic relief and Rita providing a love interest for Rick Jones.
The series did have a number of changes to avoid censorship issues with a younger audience including arming the troops at Gamma Base with futuristic sci-fi style weaponry. There's also the more frequently remembered quirk that whenever the Hulk transformed back to Bruce Banner, his clothes would miraculously return to normal.
